At 8:45 this morning the company was dispatched to the area of Harvard Rd and the Pennsy Trail for a reported brush fire
By Brookline Volunteer Fire Company - Station 35
March 2, 2025
Foam 35 arrived and extinguished a small brush fire. During this time Manoa Fire Company - Station 56 was fighting a large brush fire in the area of the 1400-blk of Lawrence Rd caused by downed power lines. Chief 35 diverted Engine 35 to assist. Engine 35 arrived to the rear of the homes and stretched a booster line to assist members of Manoa with extinguishment. Once cleared on Harvard Rd, Foam 35 also made the response. Crews from Engine and Foam 35 along with Manoa and Oakmont Fire Company used multiple hose lines and saws to stop the spread and extinguish the fires.
This is our second extensive brush fire in recent days. During this time of the year with dry weather and high winds we would like to remind everyone to stay away from downed power lines and use all precautions when using fire pits and discarding smoking materials.
