At that time, Brookline, Llanerch and Manoa Fire Company were dispatched to 610 Penfield Avenue for the building fire. Upon the arrival of Haverford Township Police, they reported heavy fire showing from the side and rear of the residence.

Ladder and Chief 35 arrived within 7 minutes of dispatch and confirmed heavy fire on the second floor of the residence. The crew from Ladder 35 stretched a 2 inch attack line to the second floor where they were met with high heat and heavy fire. Crews began to attack the fire, while Engine 56 arrived and dropped a 5 inch supply line to Ladder 35.

Crews from Llanerch and Oakmont Fire Company began to stretch a second 2 inch attack line to the 3rd floor.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes.
