Brookline Fire Company Supports the Fight Against Cancer

On October 18th Haverford High School football players wore pink jersey to show their support for cancer where they promoted "the battle doesn't end in the 4th quarter". After the game the players presented the jersey to someone being honored for their battle with cancer.

Brookline Fire Company was proud to sponsor two of those jerseys! Football player DJ Diakite presented his jersey to Firefighter Frank Cariola who has been a member of the fire company for 25 years. Frank has been leading the fire prevention program in our school. Frank is now a cancer survivor, as he battled cancer last year and had his kidney removed. We are happy to say he is cancer free. Football player Frank Thomas presented his jersey to Firefighter George Swartz. George is a survivor of lymphoma, a 23 year member of the fire company and a graduate of Haverford High School. The officers and members of Brookline Fire Company are inspired by George's courage and strength in his successful battle. We are honored to serve with both of these brave men.
